What a night! They weren't kidding when they named the show 'New Hot Nashville' - these three acts were on FIRE!
Our host, Shannon Ella, emceed the festivities, and introduced us to these three 'New Hot Nashville' acts. The night kicked off with Wax Records recording artist, Owen Barney, who opened the show with a fan favourite cover of "Buy Me A Boat" by Chris Janson. Owen instantly had the crowd singing along, and his strong vocals drew several comparisons to the original version of the song - with a cool Owen Barney twist. He then performed his current single, "Letting Go," along with some hot new music we can't wait for him to release! Owen joked about how great it felt playing to a packed house at Jasper Dandy last night, to which the crowd laughed - because we know this rising star will be playing to packed venues for years to come!
Up next was the new country band, East Adelaide. While the name may be new to you, frontman Mike Robins became famous for his time in Autumn Hill, and drummer Andrew Mackay has toured with Autumn Hill, Tebey and The Washboard Union. East Adelaide kicked off their set with a new tune entitled "Young Hearts In Old Cars," an upbeat song that encouraged the audience to reminisce on their younger years. From their first to their last song, East Adelaide commanded the crowd's attention and had them completely engaged and entertained. The show flowed effortlessly from new music to their upbeat debut single, "You Don't Get To Love Me," which had the entire crowd singing and dancing along to the beat. If you haven't yet checked these guys out - do so immediately - big things are in store for them in 2019!
Lastly, Arkansas native now living in Nashville, Adam Hambrick, took the stage. Although he's only beginning to make a name for himself as a touring musician - we can GUARANTEE you've heard a song written by this talented songwriter. Having spent his first three years in Nashville writing, Adam already has two number one songs - Dan + Shay's "How Not To" and Justin Moore's "Somebody Else Will." Adam's stage presence, songwriting and vocal talent combine to make the country trifecta. He had the fans mesmerized as he played new tunes and hits alike - everyone couldn't get enough of Adam Hambrick. Adam joked that the crowd was "awful rowdy for a weeknight," to which the crowd replied with a wild cheer! Although most of Adam's tunes were upbeat, he was able to blend his country rock sound with a few slower songs, including "Country Stars" - a song about being on the road and away from his family. While Adam's lyrics are authentic to him as an artist, he's able to beautifully create an openness for fans to connect to as well. He closed the show with his current single, "Rockin' All Night Long," which left the whole audience excited for what's next from this 'New Hot Nashville' artist.
